About Mark

Mark Philips services as the District Vice President in the Vancouver Island region, working in the Mortgage Broker channel. Mark Philips has been in the financial services industry for 15 years! Over this time Mark’s experience has been in financial planning and mortgage lending.

Mark was intrigued with the CHIP Reverse Mortgage product, after referring several clients to HomeEquity Bank from previous roles. The transformative effect it had on the financial lives of those clients was remarkable, and led him to pursue a career with HomeEquity Bank. Mark never gets tired of hearing great client stories – as he believes that this is so much more than just helping people with mortgages!

Mark has also completed two full-distance Ironman Triathlons, and spends all his spare time with his kids, biking or working on their cottage!

What is a Reverse Mortgage?

A reverse mortgage is a loan secured against the value of your home. Unlike a loan or a regular mortgage, with CHIP you are not required to make payments. You only repay the loan when you move or sell your home.

You’ve worked hard to own your home. Now get your home working for you to:

  • Pay off debts
  • Renovate or make your home more accessible
  • Handle unexpected expenses
  • Help your children or grandchildren
  • Improve your day-to-day living standard
  • Make a special trip or purchase

Your obligations

You are required to keep your property in good maintenance, pay your property taxes and property insurance.
